Michelin Guide announced new list of Michelin starred restaurants in Finland today, 24th of February. Four restaurants got 1 Michelin star, all in Helsinki. Actually all 4 restaurants maintained rating but unfortunately no new stars.

I am looking forward to Finnjävel. My problem is that most restaurants are closed on Mondays (Spis, Demo, etc) and that’s the slot I need to fill! Any recs?
True, many good rests are closed on Mondays. Sunn is open on Mondays and if more relaxed place is ok, the Cock. All island restaurants are worth to try, NJK, Boathouse and Saari especially.
Kiitos! When I travel I really want to eat the essence of the local cuisine and ingredients, which is why I took your Finnjävel suggestion. I wanted to do Spis but closed Monday…

Then it is Gasrtobar Emo. Owned by same people as Michelin star restaurant Olo. Emo is bib gourmand restaurant. Scandinavian cuisine.

All 4 Michelin restaurants are worth to visit. Depending what would you like eat, there are also Bib Gourmand restaurants Farang and Gaijin with serve asian food and are most trendy. Just opened Finnjävel serving Finnish food might be interesting, owners are from Demo and Muru. BTW, Taste of Helsinki is 16.-19.6. here. Restaurants will be published today 15.4. Lunch and dinner, if you know the concept.

Then there is one of the smallest restaurants in Helsinki, Spis, which have been chosen as restaurant of the year couple of times. Nordic cuisine, only tasting menus available. One of my favourites.
